State Eligibility Test 2025: The State Eligibility Test (SET) is a competitive exam organized by the State Level Eligibility Test Commission (SLET) in Assam for the Northeast region. Its main purpose is to identify qualified candidates who can be appointed as Assistant Professors, similar to the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Educational Qualification:
In the case of General/Unreserved/General-EWS, candidates who have obtained at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s degree or equivalent examination from Universities/ Institutes recognized by UGC are eligible for this examination. However, candidates from SC/ ST/ PWD/ OBC-NCL who have secured at least 50% marks (without rounding off) in a Master’s degree or equivalent examination are eligible to appear in the test.
Appearing Candidates: Candidates who have appeared or will appear in the final qualifying Master’s Degree (Final Year) examination and the result is still awaited or candidates whose qualifying examination has been delayed can also apply for this examination.
Application Fee:
- General Candidates: Rs. 1200/- Rupees.
- OBC-NCL Candidates: Rs. 1050/- Rupees.
- EWS Candidates: Rs. 1050/- Rupees.
- ST Candidates: Rs. 1000/- Rupees.
- SC Candidates: Rs. 1000/- Rupees.
- PwBD Candidates: Rs. 800/- Rupees.

The State Level Eligibility Test Notification will be released on 29th November 2024, and the dates for the Online Application forms Start from 1st December 2024, and the Last Date for the Online Application form is 15th January 2025.
